Berry Hudson

Rev. Berry Hudson is the Director of Insight Ministries. He has 17 years of pastoral counseling experience. Prior to beginning a counseling and training ministry in Augusta in 2009, he served as Pastor of Community Life for Two Rivers Presbyterian in Charleston, SC. He also served with Reformed University Fellowship in Tennessee and South Carolina. Berry received his BA in History from Wheaton College in Illinois and his Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Berry has also been trained in biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation in Glenside, PA. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. He and his wife, Rachel, have one son, Todd.

Berry offers in-person sessions in Augusta, GA, as well as virtual sessions.

Brittany Burden

Brittany Burden joined Insight Ministries as an Independent Counseling Associate in June 2021. She received her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling in 2012 from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. During her time there, she had the privilege of interning at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). Before moving to Columbia, SC in 2020, Brittany served on staff for eight years at Downtown Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC, primarily working as the Women’s Ministry Director.

Brittany works with counselees dealing with anxiety, depression, singleness, marriage, parenting, blended family dynamics, sexual brokenness, grief, and loss and is passionate about seeing how the love of Jesus invades the darkest parts of our stories and transforms us from the inside out. 

She met and married her wonderful husband, Tim, in July 2020, during a global pandemic no less. She has a thirteen-year old stepdaughter, Myra, and recently welcomed a son, Jack.

Brittany is currently working with clients online and in person in Columbia, SC.

 

Jacqueline Tucker

Jacqueline has served in various ministry settings teaching, speaking, and counseling for over twenty-five years. She works with counselees in all ages and stages of life, dealing with a variety of life issues including anxiety, depression, family issues, grief, and navigating difficult relationships. Jacqueline considers it a tremendous privilege to walk alongside people seeking the hope and change that only God can bring. As a survivor of abuse, she is also passionate about helping victims see God’s heart for the oppressed. In every counseling relationship, she aims to facilitate lasting change in the way a person thinks, feels, and acts, while respecting the unique role a counselee’s environment and body plays in issues of the heart. She received her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jacqueline is a thankful mom to four daughters and a son.

Susan Waldren

Susan Waldren has been an Independent Counseling Associate for Insight Ministries in Mt. Pleasant, SC since 2013. While living in Dallas, Texas, she received a BA in Psychology from SMU, a Master of Social Work from UTA, and worked in the addiction treatment field. More recently, Susan was trained as a Biblical Counseling through CCEF and earned a Master of Biblical Counseling degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2019. For many years Susan has enjoyed participating in and leading Women’s Bible studies and prayer groups at her church. These experiences lead her to value and appreciate the opportunity to provide gospel-centered care to people in the context of the local Church. Susan and her husband, John, have 4 children and a grandson.

Susan is not currently working with new counselees.

Julie Phillips

Julie Phillips received an MA in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Formation from Columbia International University in 2013 and has been serving on staff with Insight Ministries since 2012. She is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, and Prepare and Enrich Marriage Facilitation. Julie has been involved in mentoring ministry and has informally counseled women both inside and outside the church for over twenty years. Her passion is to see women flourish in the complexities of life and she has a deep appreciation for the transforming power of the Scriptures in the care of souls. She and her husband have three grown children and two grandchildren.

Julie is no longer working with new counselees.
